Rooflights work well in various types of factories, industrial plants, halls and storage rooms, as well as in larger facilities such as sports and recreation halls. Thanks to their design, they allow effective penetration of daylight into the rooms, making them illuminated and more user-friendly for the facility's users. In addition, the use of rooflights makes it possible to reduce the cost of electricity consumption required to illuminate workstations.
What types of rooflights do we distinguish? We discuss this topic in our article.
Basic types of rooflights for flat roofs
Rooflights are a wide group of solutions with different parameters. Some of the solutions used today are
Rooflights, spotlights, mounted on a steel plinth, which provide point light to the room over which they are mounted. With the help of such rooflights it is possible to successfully illuminate, point-wise, the workstations located under the rooflights.
Light bands, a special form of continuous rooflights. Continuous rooflights take the form of long and light-transmitting surfaces. They are installed in large-scale buildings where it is impossible to bring light to the interior of the building, only by means of windows.
Roof hatches that perform two functions at the same time, i.e. the primary function of exit to the roof, as well as the function of a roof access window.
Smoke dampers that can also function as rooflights. Despite fulfilling the most important function, which is the evacuation of smoke during a fire, smoke dampers, filled with light-permeable plastics (cellular polycarbonate / solid, acrylic) also perform the function of rooflights.
Generally speaking, rooflights designed for flat roofs consist of a special, sturdy frame in which glazing or surfaces made of transparent plastic are mounted. Such a construction ensures high durability, while also guaranteeing access to more sunlight. In many situations, rooflights also serve as smoke dampers, included in the smoke extraction system.
Importantly, rooflights can be tailored to the needs of a particular building, choosing their size, diameter, or operation to suit the current needs.
Professional equipment - our offer
If you are looking for high-quality proposals that provide excellent access to the sun's rays, check out our offer. The two main types of skylights we offer are fixed, non-opening rooflights and ventilated rooflights.
Non-openable rooflight is a proposal that provides even illumination of rooms. The rooflight we offer consists of galvanized steel sheet and glazing made of plastic, placed in a special, durable aluminum frame. Additional parameters, as well as aesthetic elements, may be subject to change according to customer needs.
Rooflights with ventilation function, provide comfort and even brightening of rooms. They allow spot lighting of workstations that are directly below them. They are also used for natural ventilation of rooms, and provide an opportunity to minimize electricity costs. They consist of a clamping frame, a tilting segment, and an actuator that is used to open the rooflights to ventilate the rooms.
